Project description:
The project focused on the research, development, and production launch of a multifunctional, internet-connected video intercom system with protection against cyberattacks, designed for both the residential and commercial sectors. The main objective was to increase the competitiveness of SC Electra SRL by strengthening its research and development capabilities, in partnership with the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași. The investment was funded through the Northeast Regional Program 2021–2027, under the call for RDI projects and investments in SMEs, falling within the RIS3 Northeast smart specialization strategy, ICT Domain, Cybersecurity Subdomain.
- The main challenge in drafting the funding application for this project required in-depth technical research to demonstrate that the proposed solution goes beyond the current state of the art and is not merely an adaptation of an existing product. Clearly distinguishing industrial research activities from experimental development activities was essential, as they entail different funding rates. Furthermore, quantifying the degree of novelty of the cybersecurity mechanisms and correlating them with European digital security standards required rigorous justification to meet the evaluation criteria specific to research and development projects.
