Development of the modular AI Energy Hub platform to optimize energy management through advanced forecasting, artificial intelligence algorithms, and intelligent analytics and optimization solutions.

AI Energy Hub – Energy Management and Optimization Solution powered by AI

Project description:

The project focused on developing the modular AI Energy Hub platform, based on artificial intelligence technologies, designed to optimize energy management by integrating high-accuracy forecasts, optimization, and advanced analytics. The main objective was to enhance Ogre.ai’s research and innovation capabilities and improve the operational efficiency and financial performance of clients in the energy sector. The investment was funded through PCIDIF, under the call for proposals “Support for Innovative Start-ups,” within Action 1.1, Measure 1.1.1, Component 1-LDR.

  • The main challenge was methodological: reconciling the rigid waterfall structure imposed by the PCIDIF framework with the iterative, Agile nature typical of research, development, and innovation projects. The development of AI-based energy optimization software modules requires short cycles of experimentation and algorithm recalibration, which are incompatible with the fixed milestones of traditional planning. The solution adopted consisted of building a waterfall plan at the phase and contractual milestone level, which internally encapsulates controlled Agile iterations, without deviating from the schedule agreed upon in the funding contract. This hybrid architecture allowed the team to maintain the flexibility necessary for innovation, while ensuring the predictability of eligible expenses and compliance with PCIDIF reporting requirements.
