Project description:
The project aimed to modernize the production process and integrate circular economy principles through the acquisition of high-performance equipment, optimization software, and waste recovery infrastructure. The investment included diversifying the product portfolio by introducing four new products, including eco-friendly recycled paper pellets for animal bedding—a product derived from the recovery of internal waste. The main objective was to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of SC Rodotex SRL by reducing the consumption of virgin raw materials and transforming waste into products with economic value. The investment was funded through the Northeast Regional Program 2021-2027—Investments for the Sustainable Growth of SMEs.
- One of the most delicate challenges in drafting this application was demonstrating that the proposed changes to the technological workflow represent a genuine transition toward the circular economy, not merely an incremental optimization of existing processes. Quantifying the impact on the reduction of industrial waste and the consumption of primary resources required robust baseline data and a transparent calculation methodology. At the same time, aligning the project’s objectives with the principles of the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan was essential to meeting the specific criteria of the funding program.
