Increasing handling capacity – Container Terminal
Project description:
This project involved the procurement of container loading, unloading, and handling equipment, specifically an electric container handling crane and a diesel-powered container handling crane with an electric generator, for the port operator SOCEP SA.
- The main objective was to increase loading/unloading capacity by carrying out improvements to the port infrastructure in order to alleviate congestion in Romanian ports resulting from the blockage of shipping lanes in Ukraine, through investments in equipment by the port operator SOCEP SA. The investment was funded through the Transport Program 2021–2027—Investments in port superstructure for loading, unloading, and storage of goods to reduce congestion in Romanian ports resulting from the blockage of shipping lanes in Ukraine.
